Bono Surfing River in Indonesia
A real surfers paradise has been discovered in Indonesia, and it's not at the beach, it's a tidal bore down a river. Awesome Bono Surfing River in Indonesia.
Unexpected, breathtaking, unrivalled... three words to describe the
recent surf spot discovery by the Rip Curl Team members within the raw
beauty of Indonesia's islands.
What made this latest wave discovery so interesting and fascinating is
that it was not located on a coastline, or island shore but rather in
the deep jungles river with a tidal bore so powerful that it produces
breakers up to 8- 10 feet in height! Tidal bores usually produce small,
insignificant mushy waves, thus making this discovery a truly
remarkable phenomenon.
Tom Curren, a former three time World Surfing Champion and a member of
team scouring the world's beaches for the perfect wave says that the
find in Indonesia was "Our biggest score in twenty years of exploring"
The soft- spoken Surfing Icon has never been the type to boast of his
accomplishments, so his stories on the latest surf find on Indonesia
had all surfing enthusiasts reeling for more information, images and
news! The new surfing spot was named "Seven Ghosts" after a nearby
jungle village.
What so stunning and fascinating about "Seven Ghosts" is that it's
coffee- colored rollers break from top to bottom, this pattern is
somewhat similar to the beautiful hollow breakers that run over coral
reefs. Watching the "Seven Ghost" waves is like watching a well-
choreographed number, with all the symmetry never found on an
ocean...yet.
